Crazy Bad Photoshop

The last edition of this game showed Drew Barrymore getting her back hacked off for the (?) beauty of a magazine cover. A Boing Boing article last week paints Demi Moore as the newest victim of bad high-end Photoshopping, this time for the cover of W. Skip over the enlarged eyes, smoothed skin, too heavily pronounced collarbones, and digitally cinched waist, and set your eyes on her left hip (that's the one that appears on the right). Here's the cover as it appears: Here's a quickly altered version that shows her hip with the missing chunk restored: And here's a third...

Update for Thanksgiving Week

I have so many projects going on... the very worst time for medical problems to arise. However, I am having some urgent health issues that are affecting my work, so please bear with me as I deal with the madness that is HealthNet Insurance and Regal Medical Group. I apologize for delays and being incommunicado for long stretches. I am doing my best to get back to 100% and serve at 100%.

Summary of Lighting Seminar

So, yesterday, I went to a lighting seminar presented by Holly Randall. She's an adult photographer--which I am not interested in being, though I'm not a prude--but since she takes photos of people on a full-time basis, her knowledge of lighting (models) is applicable to the fashion and portrait photography I like to do. This seminar was presented as part of Glamourcon, a small convention that takes place twice a year in Chicago and Los Angeles. Based on the descriptions provided on the website, I thought it would be a mix of bikini models, classic pin-ups, and Playboy types, an...

Seriously, I'm a Big Fat Liar

I said something in my last post--a week ago!--about posting a video entry the next day. Ha. I have the video, thanks to my lovely little HD camcorder that I've had for a few months. Isn't it amazing how technology advances? My previous HD camcorder, purchased in 1999 or 2000, was super low-resolution in comparison, not to mention really clunky! At the time, it was pretty advanced, but now it's blown away by the new one... I went with a top-of-the-line one again, so I can hopefully get a few (okay, a couple?) years out of it before I feel...

Finding Time to Blog is Hard...

I always have an intention to post daily entries on my blog, but invariably, I find having staying power the hardest part. Generally, I start out strong, then start to lag, until--the next thing I know--it's been a monthful of nothing. I definitely make mental notes (and some written notes) when a topic arises, so I can put it on the back burner of my brain and let it simmer. Even if I think about what I want to post, though, the time it takes to sit down (and avoid distraction), then type and edit, a post is at least...
